Jerry is the co-founder of BMod Fitness, and maintains a full floor coaching schedule in the Newbury Park and Agoura Hills California region. Jerry spent 13 years in the Marine Corps, and 8 years in the aerospace defense business in a variety of high level management positions before leaving the Government in 2004 so he could work full time with the special needs community. He has 2 years of in-home ABA experience (2002 & 2003) along with coaching special needs children since 2004. Jerry has spent time as a class room aide in several special needs classrooms (2005, 2006). Jerry has also lectured at Adams Middle School in the LAUSD (2006). Jerry has been the head coach of several youth teams in a variety of sports through the years, including girls softball and basketball, boys hockey and baseball. Jerry served as the Saticoy Little League Chief Umpire for two seasons, 1998

Tonya is the co-founder of BMod Fitness.  She is also responsible for the training of BMod Fitness coaching personnel.  Tonya is currently in the second year of her Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology.  Tonya is a graduate of the California Lutheran University Masters program for Counseling Psychology completing her degree in August 2007.  Tonya received her BS in Psychology from CLU in 2005 and she is a member of the national psychological honor society Psi Chi, having graduated Magna Cum Laude and with departmental honors.  Tonya has 3 years of in-home, and supervisory, ABA experience (2003-2006), combined with coaching special needs children in the gymnastics environment since 2005.  She is very excited to have had the opportunity to be a research assistant in Dr. Laura Schreibman's PRT Lab at UCSD.  Tonya has provided ABA training for the Moorpark CA school district and lectured at Adams Middle School in the LAUSD, as well as spending time as a class room aide for several special needs children.  Additionally, she is a former competitive water skier and basketball player.  Tonya excels in coaching language and socialization skill sets.

COACH MELISSA LOPEZ

Melissa is currently completing her undergraduate degree at California Lutheran University majoring in Psychology, with an emphasis in family and child development, and minoring in Sociology. She has volunteered for several years at Ride On, a therapeutic horseback riding facility in Newbury Park and Chatsworth. She has also worked with kids for a year in the 24 Hour Fitness Kids Club, interacting with children ranging from ages 6 months to 12 years while their parents worked out. Melissa has been a competitive soccer player since she was 6 years old, and has coached younger children in the sport as well.  Melissa is also bilingual, fluent in Spanish.  Melissa started with BMod Fitness in February 2007.

Coach Ruby Tovar

Ruby Tovar is currently in the Masters program for Marriage and Family Therapy at California Lutheran University. She graduated in May 2007 from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis in Therapeutic and Community Psychology. She is a part of the Western Psychological Assiociation and PSI CHI, the National Honor Soceity in Psychology. Throughout her undergraduate work she interned at the YMCA at the Beacon Youth Center as a mentor and tutor, Sharp Mesa Vista Psychiatric Center as a student helper on the floor with patients and at the Center for Community Solutions as a Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Intervention Counselor. She has volunteered and still actively volunteers at Flood Church in the area of leadership. Other volunteer positions include Malawi Africa Ministry/Mission Trips a non profit organization of Children of the Nations.  She has been playing tennis since she was 11 and likes staying athletic.  Ruby enjoys learning and seeing change happen. She is intrigued by psychology in its many forms and through her volunteer work and experience with children likes to incorporate both into her learning and professional life.

 Alan started with BMod Fitness in Jan 2009.  He has been coaching special needs children in a variety of capacities including with AYSO since starting with BMod Fitness.  Alan maintains a floor schedule in the Santa Clarita region, currently at Wallers' GymJam Academy.  Originally from Scotland, Alan moved to California in 1987.  Alan spent over 20 years working in the hi-tech semiconductor industry, in a variety of management and engineering positions, before deciding to leave the industry in late 2008 in order to be able to more directly impact and involve himself with his 9 year-old autistic son.  Alan has 4 years of DTT/ABA experience (2003-2007) and 3 years of PECS experience, including experience with several ACC devices.  Alan is currently a member of the NLACRC Board of Trustees as well.  Alan has a strong athletic background, having been a professional soccor player, and a recreational motocross, water-ski and cycler.
